Thanks for the words... :) I've been MIA for quite a while... kinda ran out of things to say, at least with the written word. Again, appreciate it.

Writing through the tears. I teach special needs students and one of my students with Down Syndrome has been very sick this summer. I know how my heart falls into the pit of my stomach when I see him in the hospital and I feel so helpless. I can only imagine the feelings that you experienced or this mother in the video. Very moving.....very haunting...

Forgive my wordiness, but I have been back in school for 3 weeks. It has been a tough beginning and I am exhausted. Now........I am reminded of why I do what I do. Such special kids......such a gift to their parents and to me.......I am grateful to God for the privilege of sharing in their lives.

Your little "Bean" is a permanent member of my prayer list!

Didn't cry on that day, but cried watching this.

Thanks for this. I am sitting in the NICU holding my mostly-healthy 3-month-old girl but I won't ever forget waiting through her 2intestinal surgeries (the first at 2 days old) and telling myself we were doing the right thing.
