how it is possible for my car to have a 1/4 tank of gas when I get out and be "in the red" when I return. Hmmmm. . .

You aren't crazy. Gas efficiency gets lower with a less full tank. Something about the fumes evaporating once you get 1/2 way will affect your efficiency. I'm on empty myself, but just be appreciative, I'm sure you are paying less than the 3.46 it is around Gville.
No, we haven't made it quite that high but I feel sure we make up for it living in a larger city. The time it takes me to get out of our neighborhood here is the same amount of time it took me from house to mall, house to church, house to just about anywhere when in Gville. Among many other things we sure miss the size - and ease of getting around - of gator town!
That's true! I remember driving through your neighborhood thinking it was it's own little city, you could probably use a whole tank just driving around there :o)
